Close up wasp orchids on Lovers Jump Creek : March 8 2023
Another sunny day breaks with forecast over 30C - not as high as the day before. Not the day to be mowing the lawn. Only two trades to write up overnight - credit spread on VMC. Did some fixing in the yard to stop a critter digging around the compost tumbler - got the design and fist level defences in place. A bit more tidying up done
Walked down to local shops to get contact lens stuff and post letters for my wife. Found this banana tree with fruit along the way
Came back through the bush to get more photos of chiloglottis orchids. They are building some sort of holding pond below the waterfall - looking up the slope - some fab sandstone
Looks like they will make a wall below this pond. Guessing the idea is to slow the water flow down the steep slope. Going to be a mosquito nightmare for the houses above
A few new wasp orchid plants flowering in the known spot - more flowers than last year
Chiloglottis seminuda - key to ID is no calli on the lower half of the labellum
English names get confusing. One guide says bare-tipped wasp orchid
Yep - bare-tipped and it does mimic a wasp. Other names are turtle orchid - resembles a turtle seen side on.
Happy to find a few new openers and to get photos without leech attention
Found one bonnet orchid still flowering. The others have shut up shop. Time is coming to keep walks to the rainforest areas until spring for autumn and winter orchids
This tree growing in my neighbour's garden. It is a Buckinghamia - endemic to tropical Queensland but happy down south. Cannot say I have seen one - bees were happy
Kept plugging away at setting up a bonus page for new product I am promoting - Rapid Profit Machine. Was hoping to run solo ads to it this month. Did not work that way as solo ad provider processed payment and approved campaign before I could change target. Next month
Dinner: Pasta bolognese
Trade action: Staying out of markets mostly - one credit spread on VMC

The one that mimics wasp is so amazing to look at. Here in our country we also have a dancing queen orchid that looks likely to be a queen doing dancing.
The orchid looks so nice.
and some one is going to have a huge banana harvest. : )
