Mushrooms day in Garigal NP : April 26 2023

Got a few shopping chores out the way - hardware stuff - not often do I did that. The stores are so big and hard to find stuff (or staff to help). A fee things were deployed right away - kill bugs in the veges. Replace light bulbs.

Stopped off in Garigal NP on the way back

First photo is the theme for the day - mushrooms. Saw these yesterday for first time - two days in a row

Found one flower closing up on the chiloglottis orchids - photo out of focus - these are the leaves

Last time I walked this track, there were no banksia flowers - a few now

Back to mushrooms - ochre in colour

Wad looking for specific orchids below the chiloglottis colonies - helmet orchid budding - corysanthes aconitiflorus

Two in frame with acianthus orchid leaves close by

Found the first orchid in flower - from this heart shaped leaves come the mosquito orchids - acianthus pusillis. Bonus is the ant pollinator

Front on. Photo work is hard as flower is a match head long and two wide

Always a leach or three. Felt this one start to drill and moved it after the photo shot

Back to mushrooms - white again

One of those puff ball types - touch them when they are ripe and they people spores all over the place

More wavy on a side track. Found the next just as I turned to go back

Chiloglottis orchids - no buds

Close bynwad thus cluster of mushrooms each about the size of a saucer

Last mushroom up the hill. Nice work - drizzly rain held off. Found one orchid fully open - new for the season this side.

Cooked dinner when I got back - barbecue and veges and salad. Was nice
