Helmet orchid time on Warrimoo Track : June 6 2023
What day is it? Cloudy start with rain overnight. Did the investing accounting. Took the lazy way out to get a walk in on Warrimoo Track - took the car
Never good seeing markings like this at the start of a track - normally a sign of trackwork
Not sure about the blue one with numbers
This one did help. The wrong way sign and the SES beacon suggests the track was used for a trail run over the weekend. Footprints said this was true

Mushroom a little bigger than a quarter
A stage earlier it still has a hood as it comes out the ground - then flattens out
Many a photo taken along that trunk. Reflections won this one

Told you paying attention was key - toothed helmet orchid. This white bits are differnt from the front - the white ring like a toilet seat
Most notable is the white cap from behind - corybas pruinosus
Maybe the best or the worst photo of the day - the teeth are in focus
High above the head is a Tom Cats orchid - cestichis reflexa. One day I will climb up there

One budding nodding greenhood in low light. First for the year this side

Did find one pixie caps orchid open - acianthus fornicatus
One open cobra greenhood - pterostylis grandiflora made the mission for the day

Good walk - 5 orchid types open and one promised. No sharp greenhoods - done for the season
Dinner: Prawn pasta dish from my head
Spring onion, garlic, capsicum, chorizo, bacon, cherry tomatoes.
Jazzed up with a little white wine and chicken stock and mix of home grown rocket and silver beet - paprika for flavour
Served with fettuccine - GF of course
