More fingers orchids - two types : September 20 2023
Another hot day. Had ideas of walking Coolangatta Mountain but the morning drifted by doing the investing stuff. Did get the weekly post out. Had committed to looking after our friend's puppy
Took some walking to get her to rest a bit. Headed out when hand over was done and my wife came back. Rode out to walk the close in section of Seven Mile Beach NP next to the golf club
Found a few finger orchids - all look like variations of carnea and catenata. Light was a bit low for great photos but I will share anyway - this one has green column, dumpy fingers and pink colour
This one is tinged with pink - rest is consistent
Much darker pink with yellow point on labellum
Touches of red on the column and pink point on the labellum
Grand tree in the setting sun - maybe 70 years old
Purple colouring between the calli - the others were white
Close up
Pink point on the top
This one too but with the pink colour between the calli
And one that has the carmine bands - caladenia carnea
Short ride and cool enough walk in the forest making for an easier day than the last few
Dinner: Spiced up bolognese sauce to do Mexican with cos lettuce
