Seven Mile Beach NP - Clear the blues October 25 2023
Was always going to be a tough day after a 2 am go to bed time after driving my son home. My body was not keen to move - 4th 2 am night in a row and a cold starting and a shed load of stress. Noted when I did get moving, I had a missed call from my son. Called him back - he had got a lift to the hospital. Time for discharge. Not as simple as all that. Drive to hospital - pick him up - drive to his place to get their car with baby seat and then drive back
Hospital in Nowra is on Scenic Drive overlooking the Shoalhaven River
The road is not far from the cliffs overlooking the river. Got some photos
Dropped them off at their place - chose to head directly back so they could get back to routine.
My granddaughter seems comfortable enough - clearly has no pain.
Dropped them off at home. Did the weekly shopping in Nowra on the way back.
Did get on the bike to ride late afternoon. Not holding out much hope for orchids - a bit early for hyacinth orchids
First buds were hyacinth orchids
Close up - hard to ID this early but going to guess dipodium roseum - rose hyacinth orchid
I always like it when I find a second plant - tells me I can expect more
Seven Mile Beach NP always seems to have native violets flowering
This bud got me looking twice. Is it an orchid? Nah! It is a fern of some sort

Twining glycine - not many of those left
A short ride to get back in the swing of things. My feet hurt after heaps of standing in the hospital emergency department
My son did send a photo of the young lady standing tall and not the worse for wear and showing off new teddy bear from her other granddad
She looks as if she is through the ordeal really well
Dinner: Ravioli in a nice tomato sauce
Stayed away from markets

Thanks. Was hoping to go visit them today but his partner called it off. The young lady is 1 year old next week and I have not yet been allowed to hold her. Starting to bother me.

Thanks. Can only hope. The way things are I may never see her again. Her mother is a control freak. Was married to one - not going back to that stuff
