Road trip to Corowa - bike tuning done : March 14 2024

Awake early but moving slowly - sure pleased I had everything packed the night before. Eat breakfast and start the 659 km drive. Traffic was slow at front end and in the M7 roadworks just started

Did the two hour stints - Marulan for fuel and a break and wash windows. Lovely gum trees backed by the Hume Highway

Next stop - Dog on the Tuckerbox just short of Gundagai. Lunch there

This was a staging Inn - relic farm cart

Remnants of Carberry Inn. A friend was married to a Carberry - will ask

Back on the road - decided to take the fastest route with one change - turn off early on Old Barnawatha Road - our 2014 Murray River Ride came this way to Corowa - Hume Highway crossing for old time sake. Many an Aussie solider will know that hill - their base is on the other side in South Wodonga

Checked in to the caravan park - was not the one we used last time - pity as this one is ramshackle. Rode down the river to check stuff was working

Scenes up and down Murray River - Australia's longest

Military vehicle ramble on in town - lots of WWII vehicles. Rode into town for a beer

Fitting to add an ANZAC memorial to gi with the theme - pub was mediocre with crap beer. No photos

Riding done is first on this bike since the move in late September

Chose to cook in camp - stuff that might have died in the fridge came with me.

Tomorrow the ride starts down the Murray to Yarrawonga on a new bike trail alongside the road.
