Gardens and Bush day in Shoalhaven : March 23 2024

Going to be a different day down Shoalhaven Heads way. First part us a visit to a friend of a friend who has a house at Jaspers Brush not far from Berry. He has a mature garden built over the last 25 years

He created a set of terraces and planted some bold borders

The morning trimming chores were interrupted by this resident - a 2 metre diamond python

Pulling ideas for our garden - these vertical framings work well - layer the green and the colour. The key part is our house is nearly 2 metres above ground - plenty of space to do some shaping

Chiloglottis diphylla - key to ID is calli going all the way down the labellum

This leaf is not quite heart shaped - more likely a helmet orchid. Got to say this season is going to be amazing

Slender hyacinth orchid still flowering two weeks since last visit - dipodium variegatum

Was a busy day. Not over as we met up in the local club with friends of our guest. Had a fab evening meeting new local people. Local and similar in background and mindset. Good bit - can walk home. A lovely end to a good day
