Bromeliads in local Gordon Streets : March 28 2024
A bit slow to get to the shops the day before the Easter weekend. Keen to grab the once a month discount meant I needed to be in the shops. Took 10 minutes to park and 10 minutes to exit
They decided to sweep the streets on the 2nd busiest day of the year - plain dumb. Shops were not bad at all - calm
Photos from home - oncidium orchid started flowering while I was away - will flower two months
Lobelia also at home. Did go out walking.
Tried a different track to get to the creek - first side track with sone steep drop offs
Pine leafed geebung on the way
Followed a sealed track that was pretty overgrown. Given it had proper drainage I would say it was the original road - got bypassed when the suburb down below was built
Tracked back to the path that loops back to the golf club.
Walked back up our street - a few different bromeliads

Confused fruit tree - thinks it is spring
A different style of bromeliad
A flash of yellow - growing in the suburbs and in the bush - going to guess one homenis not natural. An import from somewhere else

Wow. The day one gets tired of photographing flowers is the day to call it quits.
Got a long way to go before that happens
Bromeliads have been flowering here off and on for a couple of months, delightful colour added to garden. Off road down to the creek looks interesting to explore.
