Rained a lot overnight and through most of the morning. Days like this get me depressed. Did have in my mind heading down two stations to check a new supermarket opening - no trains - not doing the bus thing

Weather cleared enough to go walking - took a long route to go to shops. Photo shows the track laying train - evidence of the closed train service

A different angle on one of the old houses - painted a weird green - did not start out like that

Saw this side alley - walked down to see if it opened to the cross street. It has been blocked off. Will have been the original sanitary lane

Walk turned into a camellia walk - all new shots

Cosmos in two colours reminds me of where I grew up in South Africa. They grow all along the roads - originating in South America - arrived in Australia in feed for WWI horses

One of the old style houses been tidied up

No idea but something is coming along - going for sale

Signs of autumn - grand old trees

Dinner: My wife turned the bolognese sauce into cottage pie - two nights off cooking - just did the finishing touches
