Shoalhaven Heads Botanic Garden and River scenes : May 15 2025

Rained overnight and looked gloomy all day. Not keen to ride in that. Did force myself to get out walking early afternoon - no umbrella - walk to Botanic Garden and then the river - flower time

Found this in the small Queen Anne Reserve - I think it is a cassia flower - not native

Banksia flower on the edge of that reserve - opened out

Not yet fully open

White protea. Some proteas are native but most come from South Africa - not seen a white one before

Side on

They grey heron was on the fence next to the road but flew off before I got a photo. It landed on the roof and posed there

Fall down house for sale. The estate agent photo is about the land - two minutes walk to the river and above the flood zone. Knock down

A few grevillea varieties - I did see the names in the garden but have forgotten some already

Takes a day to forget - or photograph the sign - grevillea superb

A different banksia

Hibiscus like a trumpet - new to me

Or get a photo with the sign - banksia

Not yet open form - banksia spinulosa

Hibiscus similar to the last one but in white with bugs. Do enjoy wandering through the garden

Down to the river next - half a block away

Hard to decide the best way to capture the view down the river to the mouth - landscape

Pink bottlebrush on the way back

Cooked dinner for friends - duck breast sous vide and seared and some BBQ bits.
