Grey Gordon Day - two tone camellias : May 19 2025
A grey day with heavy showers overnight. Forecast is for a week of that. My wife's cold is taking hold. For now I am shaking it off. Spent most of the day catching up on last week's options expiry. Busy weekend had that pushed to Monday.
Went walking to get the steps done and to go to pharmacy for medicine for my wife. Cockatoos chomping seeds from this tree across the way from our place

Surprised to find this flowering. Jonquil thinks it is spring. Weather had been mild and easy to get confused
Not sure what this flower is - a garden flower - maybe a lily
Had been thinking of starting back at golf this week - good thing I did not choose this week. Forecast is for a lot of rain this week. Maybe the week after mynwife gets back from Hawaii
House for sale. Front of the house looks like a standard 30s red brick. The photo shows it has been extensively renovated out the back with a pool

Shopping was a one shop visit. Walk did need an umbrella a few times. Steps done
Dinner: Beef massaman curry - no photos - not the best - not tangy enough and cooked the beef too long

I wonder why mushrooms come up with different colors
These ones look like a street food here in Nigeria called Akara

The purpose of these colors is not always clear, but research suggests that they may serve several functions. For instance, darker mushrooms are more common in cold climates, possibly because they can absorb more heat from the sun, which could benefit their reproduction.
Additionally, some mushrooms use their colors to attract specific organisms that aid in spore dispersal, similar to how fruits attract animals.
An example - there is a brown mushroom that attracts a brown fly - never seen that fly anywhere else and only seen brown ones on that mushroom
