New season orchids in Seven Mile Beach : June 11 2025
A blue sky day - weirdest dreams had me really bothered. Set in the country I grew up in. All the people were tagged with labels and shipped to the empty parts of the country. We pulled off the labels and started the walk home - weird it was
How to deal with that? Got to walk the dog - a big loop around the sports field - the dog loves to run on a long lead exploring the bush on the edges. Gets me a long way ahead of daily steps. Got on the bike to ride to midpoint of the south end of Seven Mile Beach NP
The drill here is to ride to a marker on the main road and walk the bike into where the sand track goes. A few years back I stumbled on a colony of greenhoods near the track. Bristly helmet orchid near where I park the bike
The orchid I found those years back was this - tall greenhood - bunochilus longifolia - happy to find them again after a few weeks of checking
The story is a dufus story - been parking the bike against the wrong tree the last few weeks - literally 10 metres off the right spot
What I do know is the track intersection is bang on as this nodding greenhood is right there - pterostlyis nutans

More green than the others - acianthus fornicatus

Side on. Took some work to be sure the key ID factor was captured - the forked labellum of pterostylis concinna
