Tricky travel down south for Seven Mile Beach NP walk : July 17 2025

A different day lining up. Taking public transport to travel down to Shoalhaven Heads to help my son out. A bit tricky journey as the rail line is closed for repair work from last week's storm.

Walk to local station to start - train - train

Bus to Wollongong to get past the repair points. Did make for quite different view over Wollongong city - target for the express bus connection

Getting the express bus gave a bit more time before the next train

Quite some development happening since my last visit - modest high rises with some style

Never seen a warning sign like this - no shooting up. Was that a message for Commonwelath Government staff?

Station shot - there was scaffolding up on the original station. They were restoring the heritage colours

Train to Bomadery is last train leg for the day - heading into station

Last step is bus from Bomadery - a bit of a wait - enough time to get a coffee

Been a long time since visiting this bakery. We used to cycle down here from Berry and then ride up and over Cambewarra Mountain

Sure pleased I planned well. Only 3 buses a day - next one is in a few hours

Last leg done - was good to get to the house. Just over 5 hours - car would be 2 and a quarter hours. House over the way is sold - taken more than a year

Did have enough time to go for a bike ride and walk. I do miss doing a ride easily as get the bike and get on a quiet road with no traffic and hills

A big day - shopped for a few things on the way home. Nice pork medallion dinner
