Killara walk - find the theme walk : July 27 2025

A family day lined up. My wife's son arrived early on the insistence of Ollie - go to ouma now. Was a fun time - they headed over home earlier than lunch was ready. No problem - our other guest enjoyed lunch and a glass of wine

The last of the orchids I got for my birthday chose to open today. Good timing as our guest has a birthday in the same week as mine

The flower is tiny - love the detail

Guests gone - plenty time to go for a walk

Walked a different slice of streets not walked for a while - down Killara way. Photos of some of the older single storey houses - this one just down from the railway line is empty - recently so. Maybe a theme for another day

Next in the original red brick - look out for the next commonalty

The feature stands out - the chimney

Signs of spring in July - blossoms - down a side alley

The cloud contrast caught my eye. There is a chimney. I wonder how many still work. We would love a fireplace in either or both of our houses

Found a back path from parking at Killara Station. Council have implemented parking charges at their station car park. Guess the locals now drive up to Gordon Station and park there as parking is included in the train fares - no extra fee

Back path joins the road that runs past Marian Theatre Killara. An apartment for sale next door. Might hold off buying here as there is talk the theatre site is on the market. Apartments next ?

    Nice walk with a lot of interesting things to see! Your birthday's orchids are really pretty. The rose is gorgeous with lovely color. Plenty of clouds in the sky is also my favorite, as a cloud lover.... Thanks so much for sharing. ;)
