Flat Rock Creek walk plus family time : September 13 2025

A blue sky day for the weekend. Plan for the day is to go to local school fair with my wife's son and grandson. Meet at their place and walk up to local school. Not done that in over 15 years

Only got one photo of the school building from the front - dated 1934. Buildings inside have all been compromised by modern attachments

The selling point was the petting zoo. Ollie liked the ducks but not the big animals

The alpaca hairstyle was a hoot. Had not noticed the bended bottom in the shot

Ice cream time makes a happy young man

Bubbles man was popular with the kids

We headed back to the apartment - my wife dropped me off to walk a big loop along the local parks - looking for any chance of orchids - found a few other flowers

Baby brush turkey busy scratching and not bothered about the human viewer

White version of flower seen a little further back. Not noticed the similarity when I took the photo

First dyanella of the season

Views across to St Leonards - walked the whole of Flat Rock Creek - no orchids

Looped back to the park the walks tarted from and back up to Artarmon Station for a train home

The oldest bridge in Sydney

Intrigued by the way the rain has worn this side of clay - like an Aztec village

Similar to the other bell flower with touches of pink stripes

Pea flower - took a while to get one shot in focus

Hakea flower - great light for a photo

First thought was a hibbertia flower - maybe a flattened pea flower

Walked back down the creek track below the railway line. Would make a good walk rather than walking down the suburban street I walked. Next time

Waited for train at Artarmon Station - a few friends like train photos - best wait for a train

Walk done. Steps done. No orchids.

Dinner: Thai basil chicken stir fry. New recipe but no photos. Oops
