Got a blue sky day - super windy to start- feels like September
Walked down to Blackbutt Creek - local gardens have the English garden feel - bluebells
A flash of spring too - no idea what they are other than garden flowers
House for sale at the end of the street - right next to the golf course - a super quiet spot
Mission today- chiloglottis orchids. First colony is interesting - the longest flowering flower is still open. The other three have closed up shop already

What orchid is that? Calli go half way down the labellum - suggests chiloglottis trapeziformis

Testing ID - a few more calli below the centre line
First bearded orchid on this track this season - calochilus paludosus. Clue is the tape below the labellum
Two sun orchids on this mossy rock have pushed out buds since last week
New bearded orchid budding on the same side of the track

ID challenge - calli go down the labellum but only in a narrow band

Rewarding outing for day out in orchids, well done with photography along the way.
The walks keep body and soul together. Need one such today- one of my good cycling friends died yesterday. She has just completed trip of her dreams - Cape Town, Hermanus, Jo'burg, KNP, Chobe, Vic Falls. Back a week - heart attack. Younger than me
So many friends of late here one can only be happy she had her dream trip completed. Nothing can fill empty hole people leave behind, enjoying time outdoors wrapped up in thoughts is comforting at times. Take care and enjoy time we have, thank goodness we never know when.
