Tough day saying farewell to a friend : September 30 2025

This was always going to be a tough day. Heading to a funeral for one of our cycling friends

The hard part is Kim was so full of life and energy and keeping fit with lots of cycling. And she was 2 years younger than me - younger than my sister.

Cycling and her family was her life. The helmet is on the casket. A hard start - and then the eulogies began - just wow. She was a whole lot more than we as cult cyclists knew (her son's words). A mum, a nana, a keen sportsman, an accomplished accountant, a friend a fun fiend, and more. Always direct and always pushing the envelope - my type of person

The cult numbered 18 members out of a memorial of well over 100 people. Vale Kim. RIP. The cult reminisced at the wake

Walked a block at home to get the steps up and to get some photos - need flowers for days like this. Start off with West Australian bottle brush intermingled with England azaleas

Couod not decide if the bottle brushes were the same or different - you decide

Leaf looks a bit different and one is more cone shaped than bottle brush shaped

Signs of spring - hydrangea flowers emerging

A different theme - spiky trees they are

A bit hesitant to share this photo as it is not quite in focus BUT it has some amazing detail

A challenging day - full of emotion. We only met 17 years ago and spent two weeks a year cycling together. Vale Kim. I sure hope we can keep the cult going in your honour.

Did do house chores - cooked cottage pie for dinner

We really don't know until when death will come 🥹. Sometimes seeing post on social media about anyone leaving the earth makes me sad.

Was like, and that's it? Thy journey ended.
