Blackbutt Creek orchid walk : December 2 2025
An at home day waiting for a delivery after lunch time. Not organised enough to get out early. Did the walk down to Blackbutt Creek once the delivery was made

Begonia flowering on the golf course. Reminds me of growing up as a kid - we had these in our garden

First orchid of the day - bonnet orchid - cryptostylis erecta
Budding dipodium variegatum - last walk saw 20 budding - not a lot left - been attached by a fungal disease
Fungal droop like this - this is not lack of water

A lesson in bonnet orchids. Normally the leaf is close to the flower spike. In this photo there are two spikes and one leaf - a good 9 inches away
Trigger flowers
A bit of bug time - took a few goes to get a photo in focus
Eyelashes photo - took a lot more goes to fer a photo - was windy
Did have to hold the spike for the tiny Australian bluebell flower
Hard to get focus on this yellow daisy - a bit of wind and a bright colour wanting to grab the light and weaken the focus

Dipodium variegatum I have been watching over a few weeks. Struggling with a rick wall behind facing the western afternoon sun

Tongue orchid in a known spot going back - missed them last walk

Bonnet orchid struggling a bit - emptied my water bottle to give the plant a break
Friend over for dinner - Thai Red curry with chicken

Big delay in getting last investing post out - been sick and the number were ugly
