Raindrops and Summer Flowers - Gordon : December 12 2025

Was turning into one of those nowhere days Raining is a good trigger. Weird dreams do not help. Waiting for a delivery does not help. Plugged away doing investing accounts and working on a product launch I am promoting.

Often the best thing to do is get out for what I call an "umbrella walk" - enough to get the steps done and a chance to get some photos. First shot is across the Lane Cove River toward Macquarie Park. Looks dry enough to maybe not need the umbrella

Did the short route down - across one block.anf then down. Maybe an oleander theme for the walk - with raindrops

Photos of the old houses never go amiss. This one has been painted - not rendered - paint over the bricks

Did notice the 2P parking restrictions on the top of the street. These are new - they run just one side and from the Pacific Highway to the first cross street. The street is narrower than the next one along (ours) but it is further from the school and station. Two thoughts - a bigwig moved in OR it is to make it easy for delivery stuff for the apartments on the highway and the narrowness

Next flower has raindrops - pink hibiscus

More raindrops on the morning glory flower - a weed that spreads everywhere

I do recall sharing the photo of the For Sale board on this house. Been a while since I walked down this way - now has a Sold sticker on. Interesting to see what happens - the house is older than the ones opposite and might have heritage status. Going to guess not = knock-down

At the bottom of this road lives an orchid grower - at least 100 plants. One flowering - oncidium - dancing ladies

Back to what happens when a place sells. This house has a development application going and work has started. Basically they are ripping out the back of the property but the old style house in front is staying

Back to raindrops and the 2nd hibiscus of the walk - red this time

The flower theme is also a summer story - a line of white and purple agapanthus along this fence

And with that a well established frangipani across the way - summer and raindrops

Walk done - steps made. My wife was late home from grandson duties

Dinner: a simple pasta and bacon and mushroom dish.
