Grandie sitting day - short shopping walk - local flowers : December 15 2025
An early start with my wife heading out to fetch her grandson - she is working from home and looking after him. He was still not happy after his surgery last week - not into men. No surprise as all the hospital staff were men
Did get a chance to try out the HotWheels tracks his ouma got off Facebook marketplace for free. Two tracks - ine with a big loop. Got them working once we dug out the heavier cars. Ollie had a good time - eat what he feels like. Wander around freely - endless episodes of Bluey
Did get out a walk during his nap - was a long nap. Yesterday, today and tomorrow growing in the block next door
Sign of the season - church banner advertising the Christmas services. Got the shopping done and walked back
Flower from our garden to round out the day - plant is a bit happier in the cooler weather. Ollie was still napping when I got back - clearly needed it
Spent a bit of time working out how to photograph the new orchid with the standard phone. Need to learn for the days I do not have the macro phone at hand. The tiny spider was relocated outside

Did cook dinner - fried barramundi. Forgot to dust with flour - that changed the way it cooked. Tasted fine. Had bought skin off fillets - that changes the cooking dynamic too.
A troubled day reflecting on the events in Bondi Beach on Sunday. Have lived in 2 war zones in my time - not counting Bangkok Red Shirts time
I shared this image - this book touched me deeply as a young person growing up in South Africa. Then loved through the Irish bombings in London - one in the building next to my office and a fee more close ones. Just feels like 3rd time around.
