Yellow scribbly gum and a lot more yellow in Bomadery Creek : January 24 2026

Got a different day lined. My wife said she would work around me visiting my son. Headed out after she came back from coffee. Do a walk. Buy lunch. Visit my son. Shop. Come home

Walked Bomadery Creek Regional Park - it has some grand yellow bark scribbly gums

Spent a bit of time getting butterflies to stop their mating ritual for a photo - got one side on with a nice shadow

Slender rice flower I think - could be one of the other rice flowers

Purple fringe lily - one close to the ground

Side on - did see quite a few in the open areas but these had the largest flowers

Purple fan flower - a few around

Yellow scribbly gum leaning over a bit

Hibbertia flower

Back to the yellow scribbly gums

Into the open track area smashed by the trail bikers - view across to Cambewarra Mountain

Yellow pea flower close to the ground - turning into a much yellow day

Under the powerlines - more yellow - daisy-leaved goodenia

Side on may be the key to ID

The photo challenge of the day - the ladybird kept moving around the spike it was on to get away from the human

A few trigger flowers still going - mostly they have seeded

The orchid of the day has seeded - horned orchid - orthoceras strictum with top flower stiĺl showing some form

Fully seeded across the path - two plants - there were 4 the first time I saw them here

Under the powerlines. Was hoping to find midge orchids - no kick this time

Stopped at shops on the way to see my son. My granddaughter was waiting at the door to show me her Barbie doll. It is a mermaid and her hair changes colour depending on temperature

My wife had bought her a draw in table cloth. She was keen to go drawing. We had a lot of fun - painting, drawing, blocks, ball games, flowers, chase, hide and seek. Gave my son time to get chores done. I sure miss seeing them every week

Stopped at shops on the way home. Did cook dinner
