Mini-flowers in Seven Mile Beach NP - one orchid only : February 13 2026

Got the late all clear to go down south for the weekend. Morning tasks got moved. Was just over an hour to get packed. Trip down was quick as we just missed the busy school times. Got fish and chips for lunch on the way in.

Offered a good window for a bike ride and a walk. Disappointed to not find any midge orchids flowering. Australian native violet to start the walk - for my granddaughter Violette

Going back to mini-flowers. A little bit of tiny

Splash of purple - no idea what it is

Cabbage palms back to taking over the track. Too bad the track work wiped out the chiloglottis colonies

Weird mushroom form in the middle of the track

A splash of blue - weed or not it looks good - nice blue

Start of a new orchid season - acianthus leaves - lots of weeks to flowering

The other end of the hyacinth orchid season - one droopy flower to go

New bug form - milk vine bug - a new find

Lobelia on the way out the trail

A single waratah plant on the way out on the road into the village - maybe 20 flowers

Was good to be able to take a short ride to access the bush. I miss this a lot - not 2500 steps - just a few kms on the bike - no trains, no traffic

Friend came for for drinks. Cooked a mini BBQ for me to cope with a few drinks.
