Rainy day walk to explore old time Sydney sandstone : May 28 2026
Another grey day. Rained all night - woke a lot during the night - weird dreams and every waking time it was raining

Got a break in the rain - grab an umbrella and a train toward the city. Dry to start. Was pouring rain when I reached Barangaroo. A few rain angles - new and old - Sussex Hotel behind is the red brick building

Street level shot of one of the old buildings. Last photo was from above

A bit of a theme emerging - stairs cut into a sandstone face - roadway was added after

High Steps are well named - almost a ladder

Autumn colour on the top of the sandstone cutting

Ferry crossing in front of the Metro station. You may have noticed it rained a lot. Found as much under cover walking to get to the Metro station as I could - not quite covered like Zurich or Toronto

No ferry shot across to North Sydney

View back up to Hicksons Point - a terrace of Victorian houses - zoom in and left

Rainy day walk from Wynyard Station to Barangaroo Metro. Stopped at shops on the way home.
My wife still too click to eat. Made a simple pasta dish for me - bacon, chorizo, mushroom, onion, garlic, a splash of passata. Use the pasta water to do the thickening
