Arsenal Set To Land 13 Million WindFall For Torreira

Lucas Torreira joined Arsenal from Sampdoria in 2028 for around £26 million taking on the number 11 shirt and quickly became a fan favorite for his work rate, energy, and no-nonsense tackling, and grit in the midfield. Despite his lack of size, he has been a powerful midfield enforcer but later found himself out of favour once Mikel came to the club.

He started playing further forward which doesn't really suit him and he was eventually loaned to Athletico Madrid where he did win the Spanish La Liga, although not playing much.

The next season he found himself back in Italy with Fiorentina and has impressed their management team with 17 games and scoring one goal. It's been enough for them to consider parting with $13 million to make the deal permanent and I think Arsenal will be very happy with the terms even if it's a %50 loss in what they initially paid for the player.

The 13 million will be in addition to the $1 million paid to take him on loan in the first place.

I hope it will be the start of a series of business for Arsenal as they look to reduce the wage bill and the spending is done at the beginning of the season.

Are 11 players who are all likely to leave in the next window or at the end of the season, either for free transfers or a marginal fee. Arsenal spent about 115 million pounds in this latest transfer window after sales so if they can bring that down to around 50 million with player sales I think that would be a solid season of transfer business, reshaping the squad for a net 50 million spend.

I don't think it would be too hard to get 60 million or so out of sales for 11 players even if some of them are on short-term deals.
