Arsenal Return To Brighton To Pouch Another Defender

Arsenal is looking to improve their options in defense as a few defenders look to move on. I think that Bellerin, Cedric, Chambers, Mari, Mavraponos, and Kolasinac will all be gone by the end of the season and while the main 4 of Tomiyasi, White, Gabriel, and Tierney will play most of the games we will need additional cover, especially if we secure European football.

Much was made of the 50 million spent on Ben White, I myself thought it was far too much money and still do. Despite that, Ben has been solid at the back and has brought us several clean sheets as well as filling in at right back in recent weeks.

As our star center back now plays at right back to add cover and Ainsley is not keen on playing right back we will need a new right-footed fullback.

I can't think of a better full back that is available than Tariq, who joined the Seagulls for just £3m from Chelsea in 2019 since Chelsea preferred Reece James over him. Since his departure, his stock has risen significantly with Lamptey establishing himself as one of the division’s best full-backs.

I think he could easily command 20-30 million and I think he would be worth the money, he is like a second winger, with a blistering pace and he can sure deliver a ball into the box, which is what you want from a modern full-back.

Lamptey is under contract until 2025 so he will need some negotiating to get him to move over, but if we can secure European football it may be enough to encourage him to force the move, along with the prospect of joining up with ben white.

I would be keen to see how he and Saka get along on the right-hand side and it could be a devasting partnership should the two find their groove together.

If we can move on Chambers, Cedric, and Hector Bellerin this season who all play in the right-back roll, it should be enough funds, and wages freed up to add Lampty to the squad.
