Mari And Kolasinac Look Next To Move On After Maitland

Hot off the loan move of Maitland Niles to Roma, It looks like a few Defenders are now on Mikels hit list to get rid of with Cedric already linked with a move to Athletico Madrid to replace Kieran Trippier.

First on the list is Kolasinac who has played 1 game this season and it was a surprise to see him even start that first game of the season but since then he has been out in the cold. Kolasinac was tipped for a move to Fener to join up with Ozil, then later to Wolves but the West Midlands side is well stocked in the position themselves.

However, there are new reports that the 28-year-old has caught the eye of those over at Marseille where he could join fellow gunners Saliba and Geundouzi. Kolasinac has less than 6 months left on his deal and if he's not found a deal in Jan, he will walk away from the club on a free transfer, the same way he came in.

It is a similar story for Mari, who started off a hot spot in his Arsenal career but later fell off, especially as he struggled to come to terms with the physicality and pace of some of the forwards in the league. He is a classy center back but Arsenal clearly has very little time for him, which is why AC Milan could be a way out.

The Rossoneri have been left short in the central defensive department after losing Simon Kjaer to a knee injury and Mari can play as a natural left-sided center back so Milan sees him as an adequate deputy in his absence.

If we can move on all three defenders in January that would be a great bit of business for the club, cutting the wage bill and leaning up the squad for new arrivals.

Bellerin is also still out on loan and has not put in great performances so I wonder if we could secure a deal for him. Moving on all 4 of these defenders will leave us with

• Tomiyasi
• Chambers
• White
• Gabriel
• Holding
• Mavrapanos
• Saliba
• Tavares
• Tierney

Which is more than enough to get us through a season and I think the backline is pretty much shorted
