Arsenal Playing A Dangerous Game As Mari Exits On Loan
Arsenal's application to postpone the North London Derby incensed Spurs as they knew Arsenal were there for the taking. Spurs are upset since they were kicked out of a tournament for trying to postpone a match due to covid and Arsenal had the game moved despite having just one positive Covid case.
Arsenal has several players out through injury rather than covid but today they confirmed that defender Pablo Mari is in talks to join Serie A side Udinese on loan for the rest of the season further lowering the size of the squad.
Arteta and Edu have already allowed Ainsley Maitland-Niles and Folarin Balogun in the January transfer window so Mari’s proposed switch to Italy will only fuel further fuel to the fire.
Arsenal now has NINE players out on loan, including Maitland-Niles at Roma and Balogun with Middlesbrough, played at the weekend and Mari will make it 10, that is more than enough players to put together a full squad.

Arsenal is without 14 players in total when you consider the inclusion of call-ups to Afcon, injuries, plus Granit Xhaka’s ban from the first leg. While you cannot account for injuries and suspensions Afconc all-ups they knew about and should have made moves to minimize the pain of those losses in players.
The Gunners have tried to increase their numbers by recalling Miguel Azeez, Nikolaj Moller, and Tyreece John-Jules from the loan but none of these players are first-teamers and could simply be used to fill the bench.
