Mo Elneny Arsenals Egyptian King
As the cliche goes you don't send a boy to do a mans job and cometh the hour cometh the man, and that has never been more true in North London than the curious case of Mohammed Elneny. A perpetual fringe player and still one of the few Wenger signings who joined in 2016 for $10 million pounds.
His always worked hard and done the unspectacular, and Arsenal have had more flare midfield options making him an unlikely player to get much game time. He was shipped out on loan not too long ago, and was freezed out this season.
However, with injuries to Partey and Lakonga not able to step up, while the rest have been loaned out Mikel felt he had no choice to turn to Elneny and what an inspired decision it has been.

Turning around a rotten run of form is not easy, you need a base to build from and Elneny has provided just that. Tidy in possesion, never taking much risk, cleaning up, where needed pressing and covering and closing down passing channels, he has been an unsung hero in my opinion.
In the game against united he completed 54 of his 57 passes and won 2 tackles, and made some vital interceptions. He allowed other players to get forward and protected the back 4.
It's a pity he is in his last season with Arsenal and I hope he gets picked up by a team that can get the best out of him. Arsenal will need to find another player in his mould but with a bit more of a passing range and you would have the ideal screen for the back four and allow Partey to express himself.
I would actually like to see him play with partey but Mikel favours Xhaka to always start.
