Fulham To Give Leno A Swap Across London

avatar

Aaron Ramsdale's super performances have pushed him into the #1 spot for both Arsenal and England and when someone rises that quickly, others have to fall just as fast, and unfortunately, that is Leno at Arsenal.

To add to the pressure to move on Arsenal also have US based Matt Turner coming in from New England Revolution.

The 30-year-old Leno who has one year left on his current deal has only played 8 games last season so it's understandable that he and Arsenal would be keen on a move. But Arsenal is looking for a fee, Benfica did offer him an out but while Newcastle was sniffing around, it looks like Fulham has taken the lead now.

The good news for Arsenal is that Fulham a recent cash rich having been promoted and getting an additional £17m from the sale of Fabio Carvalho and Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa,

Arsenal are willing to let Leno go for a fee of £8.5m valuation of Bernd Leno which is well within fulhams budget. Leno might also be keen on the move as it keeps him in London so he does not really have to uproot his life, while he can still bag a decent contract with a Premier League team.

I do think Leno is far better than playing for a newly promoted team but big teams don't seem to be keen on him for some reason, either due to wage demands or his recent performances have pushed away potential leads.

Leno is still a solid goalie and at 30 years, he still has decent shelf life. I reckon the move to Fulham will do him good and Gunners' faithful will be less pained than when Martinez moved to Aston Villa

Sure with Ramsdales form moving on Leno won't be seen as a big issue unless Ramsdale gets injured then we will be screwed, we have a US keeper coming in but not sure how good he is yet
