Arsenal Smash 4 Past Chelsea
Arsenal continue their fine pre-season form with another solid win, beating a Chelsea side that was filled with premier league stars. Now granted they might not be fully fit or committed but the way Arsenal played was encouraging.
Gabriel Jesus, again showed what a goal machine he could be this season starting off the scoring with a delightful chip, before the others weighed in with goals, Odegaard and Saka basically scoring tap-ins while Lakongo scored a solid header as he was unmarked at the far post.
Chelsea really looked in sixes and sevens and could never really get going, they had a few half chances but were not able to convert them. If they did it could have been a different game, but Ramsdale and the backline maintained their clean sheet.
This was also the first game for Zinchenko who started at left back but was roaming all over the pitch and showed why he will add a new dynamic to the Arsenal team. I think it's only a matter of time before he takes Xhaka out of that midfield position.
If Tierney can stay fit and we can bag another left-back, it will give Zinchenko a lot more chances to work his way into that center-mid role he has been craving. A lot like Maitland Niles his versatility is both his strength and his weakness since they both can play winger and full back so managers tend to use them in positions they don't want to play in.
I hope that this fine start is a sign of things to come as Arsenal look to start the season off strong, unlike last season which was our worst start to a season ever.
