Arsenal Put Down Palace In A Labour Of Love

Arsenal once again kicked off the season with a Friday game and corrected the wrongs of last season's start, the worst in their history. Last season they went down to new boys Brentford but this time around, they managed to secure a 2-0 victory against Palace. The score might tell the story of a routine win but it was anything but, Arsenal started bright and new recruit Zinchenko set up Martinelli to score the first goal of the season.

After that, it was the Palace show with Viera's men throwing everything at the gunner defense and Ramsdale able to keep them out to bag a clean sheet. The man who I would say kept the eagles off the score sheet has to be Man of the match willy Saliba who had an excellent game in the heart of the defense.

Arsenal were able to resist palaces attacks long enough to force a break away by Saka which resulted in an own goal to seal the points. It was by no means pretty but they got the job done.

One concern for me was hte bench there was nothing really on it, that would change the game had we gone down and Mikel will really need to look at plan B options.
