Arsenal Keen On Danilo

While the attention of the football world is focusing on the world cup Arsenal are reportedly working behind the scenes to secure some new bodies and beef up the squad. Reports are circulating that another Brazilian could be joining after the Gunners lost out on fellow Brazilian Douglas Luiz. A contact at Palmeiras says discussions on a potential transfer deal for midfielder Danilo are starting to pick up steam.

The highly-rated young Brazilian was a target for the Gunners back in the summer, according to Fabrizio Romano but they were priced out at 40 million but now the gunners are looking to tempt Palmeiras with a second attempt.

Arsenal could land him for as little as €24million, as his contract is now a year short and with that lower price comes other prying eyes with the north London giants could also face competition from Ajax and Monaco for the 21-year-old.

It looks like Arsenal could be busy this January, with ESPN suggesting they’ll be ready to strengthen in midfield and out wide. But I think that central midfield would be the focus and if not Danilo, there should be other targets looked at to sure up the centre of the park as the Gunners look to maintain top spot come 2023
