Mikel Turning Attention To Moukoko

Arsenal is desperately looking for froward options and anyone who can bang in a goal will be linked with the club. The latest being the German/Cameroon frontman Youssoufa Moukoko

Moukoko is one of the teenage sensations in Europe at the moment as he continues to shine on the books of Borussia Dortmund in Germany. The youngster has been in fine form since he was in their youth team and earned a promotion to the senior side because of his many goals. Goals he continued to score in the first team.

At 18 Dortmund has failed to tie him down to a long-term deal and Moukoko will be out of a contract at the end of this season, which has BVB worried.

They have made him a starter to convince him to stay, but the club and his entourage continue to discuss a deal and hope to reach an agreement soon.

Since he has yet to put pen to paper, you can imagine that other clubs are sniffing around trying to secure a free or low cost transfer.

Some reports had claimed he had been offered a big-money deal to stay, but his agent has now clarified the situation.

“I can confirm that we are not about to conclude a contract extension with Borussia Dortmund,” agent Patrick Williams told Sky Germany via Football London.

“I can also assure you that the numbers that are circulating are simply not correct and Youssoufa was never offered that much. But we are still in contact with Dortmund and will see what the next few days bring.”

The young striker is currently listed at a market price of 30 million and for an 18-year-old with 14 appearances, 6 goals, and 4 assists, I would consider that an absolute bargain. While I do think bringing in a young and unproven striker isn't the best deal, I do think this kid has some potential, even if its a buy and loan for the next few seasons.
