Work Travel Day = Actifit Day: January 24 2026
So I had another trip for work I had to do Friday. The server installs were in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Now we are not getting political in this post but when I was looking for travel for this work, I tried to fly in and fly out with spending the least amount of time in Minneapolis as possible because I didn't want to end up in handcuffs, jail, detention, or get shot... #IfYouKnowYouKnow (nothing against the food people who live there, just the authoritarian control implemented currently there...)
So I booked a 7am flight to Minneapolis and I booked a 7:45pm flight home. Which means waking up at 3am to drive to the airport and not getting home until midnight.
But the day before I had to pick up a new unmanaged network switch for my configuration and so I went to Best buy and for the first time I saw the 'infamous' Crypto cards and I thought about buying them ;)

But then back to Friday, got to the airport and got onto the plane no problem.. except I checked my Actifit app and it would force close everytime. Eventually when I landed in Minneapolis I uninstalled the app and reinstalled and it started to track my steps then onwards.
It was fun to watch the plane get a "Plane Wash"!

I am a sucker for cool sunrise/sunset airplane pictures. I feel like a kid every time and I love it.

And yes I booked a window seat on the emergency exit over the wing so I had double the legroom!!!
But then once in Minneapolis trying to pick up my rental car and I saw this cool escalator and multiple stories area that looked out of a sci-fi movie.

I got back to the airport with 3 hours until my plane took off. Then as we closer to boarding time, we were missing our Flight Attendants. We finally got them and we're running late.
Then we had a "mechanical issue". The in cabin heating was broken so we had to get maintenance to come and fix that. That was fixed and we were boarding the plane 30 minutes late.
Then once on the plane and ready to go... Our engines were too cold to start so we had to get a 'jumpstart' but the truck that does it was broke down. We had to wait to borrow one from another gate/airline.
We finally took off and I touched down back home at 11:30pm. Then I had to deplane, get to my car, drive home, shower, go to bed.
So at 2:30am I was finally able to go to sleep. And I proceeded to sleep for 14 hours straight!
Was it worth it? When I could have flown out a day earlier and flown home a day later? Yes, yes it was. Because when I was heading back to the Airport I had to work my way around a massive protest where too many were arrested.
Oh and it was -17 degrees in Minneapolis on Friday (Fahrenheit not Celsius) so that was fun.
Until next time friends!

Wow mate staying up for so many hours is something I haven't done for like ten years when I stopped partying 😁
Wait, what are these crypto cards? I've not seen anything about them, infamous or otherwise.
Glad you got home safe!
