Good Luck! I have been growing a few of mine for 2-3 years now and I love it. Each summer I bring it outside and let it get real warmth and sunlight and it does it some good.
There is a deep deep divide (at least from what I found) in regards to how to properly grow them from seeds. Some people say to let it grow as it grows. Other say when it gets about 10 inches tall to cut it back to like 6 inches or whatever. I will say if you decide to cut them back.. it's scary for a few days there but eventually new shoots/branches will just appear out of nowhere lol
but good luck!

Thanks for tuning in. I have some experience with other plants now so I am not afraid to prune trees. I am also testing various exotic species and avocado, olives, bamboo, those are all not native here. Usually associated with warmer places. They do have some chance, though. The olive shoots almost died on me this first winter outside at -16 Celsius. But it was also right after pruning so I was not sure if this time I was not the one to blame... Could have been the extreme (for them) cold (that appears here only once in a few years, last time I remember below -11 Celsius was in 2011).
I intend to make some kind of a greenhouse this year, though. Also, help those olive sapling in the yard by temporarily adjusting old windows around them with the help of some wooden stakes. I almost have a project there.
