[ESP/ENG] Recordando leyendas del futbol: Ronaldo Nazario, el fenómeno

Saludos mis queridos lectores, en la anterior entrega recordamos un poco la carrera de Roberto Baggio, el día de hoy seguimos con este recuento de leyendas del futbol, y en esta ocasión hablaremos un poco de Ronaldo, el que es considerado por muchos como el mejor 9 de la historia del futbol, confieso que me incluyo entre los que tienen dicha opinión. Muchas veces y sobre todo hoy en día nos fijamos en los números para catalogar a alguien por encima de los demás, pero esto es algo que no podemos aplicar con este jugador ni con muchos otros, ya que por diversas razones sus carreras se vieron mermadas y concluyeron rápidamente, pero cuando nos fijamos en el calibre del jugador, su calidad, su técnica, su pegada, allí si podremos hacer una verdadera comparación.

Many times and especially nowadays we look at the numbers to classify someone above the others, but this is something that we can not apply to this player or many others, because for various reasons their careers were diminished and ended quickly, but when we look at the caliber of the player, his quality, his technique, his punch, there if we can make a true comparison.

Cuando miramos a las grandes leyendas brasileñas, no podemos olvidar que la mayor parte de la infancia de estos jugadores fue con un balón en sus pies, y hay diversas razones para ello, la primera es que Brasil es un país futbolista, es el deporte nacional por excelencia, es normal que los padres enseñen desde muy temprana edad a sus hijos a jugar este deporte, y la otra razón quizás de mayo peso que la anterior es la pobreza, si bien hoy en día Brasil no es tan pobre como antes y hay más recursos, anteriormente no fue asi, y para muchos una pelota era el juguete que más fácil se podía conseguir, de hecho muchos jugadores brasileños hablan de su pobreza en la niñez y como el futbol los recogió por decirlo de alguna manera. Lo cierto es que en Brasil hay mucho talento y Ronaldo es uno de ellos.

Ronaldo tenía un timing perfecto para acelerar de cara al gol, y cuando estaba uno a uno contra el portero no había nada que hacer, ni Oliver Khan podía detenerlo, era un gol seguro. Además de esto no podemos olvidar que Ronaldo llego a la serie A cuando esta era la mejor liga del mundo, todos los grandes jugadores querían jugar en Italia, por lo que la competitividad era extrema desde el pitazo inicial hasta el final del partido.

Recuerdo que jugadores de la talla de Paolo Maldini, Fabio Cannavaro hablaban de la dificultad para marcarlo, y no solo ellos, todos tenían que ver con Ronaldo, era el jugador que marcaba la diferencia entre los delanteros de la Serie A, y una de las cosas que causaba en los espectadores era las ganas de verlo jugar, aun cuando tu equipo favorito no fuera el Inter, siempre era agradable ver jugar a Ronaldo, siempre querías verlo ya que era todo un espectáculo, esto es algo que muy pocos jugadores producen en la actualidad. Por otro lado, Ronaldo fue objeto de admiración de jugadores de renombre, como por ejemplo Zlatan Ibrahimovic, un jugador que aún se mantiene jugando (2021) pero que confiesa como Ronaldo influyo en su juego.

Si nos ponemos a pensar por un momento, Ronaldo no tuvo ni siquiera 10 temporadas continuas como profesional, si no hubiese sido por las lesiones que más podríamos decir de su persona, Maradona en una ocasión dijo que si no fuera por las lesiones Ronaldo podría haber sido incluso mejor que él, declaración en la cual estoy totalmente de acuerdo.

Para concluir, solo podemos admirar a este jugador, termino su carrera con 414 goles, de los cuales 62 fueron con la selección brasileña, gano dos copas del mundo (1994-2002), mejor jugador en Francia 98 por encima del campeón Zinedine Zidane, fue el mejor jugador de la FIFA en tres ocasiones (1996-1997-2002) y también obtuvo 2 balones de oro (1997-2002), además de varios campeonatos a nivel de clubes. Sin duda estamos ante uno de los mejores de la historia, y muy dichosos somos si lo vimos jugar.
