[ESP/ENG] ¿Tiene alguna posibilidad el Sporting frente al Manchester City?

Comienzan los octavos de la UEFA Champions League, y para todos los amantes del futbol es un motivo de emoción y disfrute por lo cruces que se van a dar, por lo menos hoy juega PSG vs Real Madrid, un duelo súper atractivo que seguramente vas a ver, sin embargo, no tengo intenciones de hablar de ese partido, sino del Sporting contra el City de Guardiola. Estuve meditando en ello, y me surgió la interrogante con la cual he titulado el post, hay ocasiones en que los cruces pueden ser muy favorables para unos y desfavorables para otros, quizás este sea uno de esos casos, o quizás no, recordemos que son noches mágicas en Champions League, y cualquier cosa puede pasar, así que veamos.

Cuando analizamos el juego de este club, podemos notar que cuenta con un buen plantel y un estilo definido dentro de la cancha, pero no tiene individualides que puedan marcar una diferencia notable, su enfoque es más el juego en equipo, las transiciones rápidas y aprovechar las oportunidades que otorga el rival. ¿Sera esto suficiente?

Durante la fase de grupos, el Sporting tuvo un balance de 3 victorias y 3 derrotas, 14 goles a favor y 12 en contra, eso nos da una señal de que hay cierto equilibrio entre el ataque y la defensiva de este equipo, pero cuando jugaron contra el Ajax recibieron 9 goles entre esos dos partidos y solo marcaron 3, no fueron muy efectivos cuando se enfrentaron a este equipo que tiene poderío ofensivo, pero cuando enfrentaron al Dortmund hubo más paridad entre ellos. Luego de analizar las oportunidades que tiene el Sporting para este encuentro, me atrevo a decir que será un juego emotivo pero muy trabado por momentos, pienso que una de las estrategias del director técnico Rubén Amorim será neutralizar la posesión del esférico de sus rivales, ya que es el punto más sólido que tiene el equipo de Guardiola, como sabemos, el City es un equipo que ama tener la pelota, de allí radica todo su juego, serie muy absurdo para un equipo tener como estrategia dejarles el balón y dedicarse a la contra, no creo que el Sporting haga eso, sino que buscara hacer todo lo contrario, esa será una de las claves para desarticular y generar oportunidades de victoria. Por otro lado, la defensiva del Sporting debe estar muy concentrada si quieren tener una posibilidad, no pueden darse el lujo de cometer errores contra un club que es claramente superior y bastante ofensivo, eso podría hacer que un juego cerrado se vuelva una goleada segura.

El City tiene la ventaja de que hombre por hombre es mejor, y su presente futbolístico es bastante favorable, en Premier League gobiernan a placer, pero sabemos que la Champions le ha quedado lejos, en ese sentido se parecen mucho a la selección de Inglaterra, “mucho y nada a la vez”, tienen un tremendo equipo para levantar la copa pero no logran hacerlo, es parte de su historia, y esto es desde mi punto de vista el único punto débil que presenta este equipo, una debilidad mental que no les permite llegar más lejos. Como consideración final, mi pronóstico es que el City se llevara la victoria en esta oportunidad, no será un juego fácil, pero estoy convencido que el juego de Guardiola se impondrá y eso será lo que marcara la diferencia en el partido de hoy.
