Chinese players Fan Zhendong and Chen Meng are top of the new International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) Table Tennis World Ranking. These rankings are expected to change every week.
The new ranking system launched by ITTF will consider Grand-Smashes ( World Table Tennis Series on the lines on Lawn tennis - Grand Slam).
There will be up to four Grand Smashes contested every year, similar to tennis' Grand Slam system.

WTT Cup Finals winners will earn 1,500 points, while 1,000 points will be given to victors of WTT Champions events.

WTT Star Contender events will have 600 points on offer to the winner, while WTT Contender events will offer 400 points.

The Chinese and Women's table tennis seem to be inseparable for many years now. I can remember a few European Championship finals which figured two relocated Chinese players.

I had a ping pong table most of my life and thought I was a pretty great player. I would defeat my friends and most of my family (not my dad, that guy was incredible) most of the time. I had a serve that was lightning quick and would encourage the other player to stand quite far back only to have a "tappy" serve that barely went over the net... you know, just to keep them guessing.

Then one day in college a German exchange student who had almost made the Olympic team in Germany was in the university rec-room and I decided to have a go at playing against someone of that caliber.

it wasn't even close. I think I got like 3 points and all of those were just from errors on his part, not from me being able to return in a manner that he couldn't counter. There is an absolutely MASSIVE difference between someone who dicks around in their basement with their siblings and parents for 10 years and someone who trains with coaches in real techniques.

His name was Damian too, so the semi satanic evil references from the Omen films came to mind. He was a nice guy but that day truly opened my eyes to the difference between me and truly amazing players.
