L'immagine mostra un fiore di Polygala myrtifolia nota come Poligala a foglie di Mirto, è un arbusto sempreverde molto apprezzato per la sua prolungata fioritura che può durare da marzo a ottobre, i fiori sono di un colore che varia dal rosa al lilla o al bianco. La pianta è resistente e adatta anche in giardini costieri in quanto sopporta vento e salsedine. Alcune specie di poligala sono utilizzate in fitoterapia per le loro proprietà espettoranti e antinfiammatorie.
