È un piccolo arbusto con foglie di colore verde scuro, produce bacche sferiche in autunno dal colore bianco, fucsia o rosse che resistono per l'intero inverno. È una pianta resistente sia al caldo che al freddo. Per una buona crescita è necessario un terreno con pH acido e ben drenato.
