Come to Australia. We have weird and wonderful creatures here ;)

Echnidnas are shy creatures. Despite spending huge amounts of time in the Australian bush over my 40-something years, I can count on one hand how many times I've seen one in the wild.
So, when we walked out of the front door of our housesit here in northern Victoria, I was DELIGHTED to see an echnidna on the FRONT LAWN.
Capital letters are required here, people.
This is a big deal.
They're funny creatures, these ant-eating mammals that lay eggs and these short-beaked ones are found nowhere else on earth.
If you are ever visiting Australia and happen to see one in the wild, count yourself extremely lucky.
Oh, and don't touch them; those spines (quills) are poisonous!!
