I finally got a chance to use this!

We're back at Woolgoogla, on the Mid North Coast of New South Wales (which is actually on the EAST Coast of Australia - just to be confusing 😂).

It's the last night of this seven week long road trip. And it's a lovely way to round out the trip since our very FIRST night was also here.

This time we snagged a cabin right on the beach. (I'm not exaggerating, we're about as close as you can legally stay near a beach in Australia). That is to say, I can SEE the waves from our ground floor cabin and I could walk less than 100 metres and be ON the sand.

It's pretty rad.

Brad's been wanting a beach holiday forever. It only took til the last day of a seven week trip to get him this close 😂

Meanwhile, after seeing @riverflows in her 'hooded towel' back in Victoria a couple (??) of weeks ago (I've so lost track of time!), Brad thought it would be cool to get one each.

So in Merimbula (south coast NSW), a week ago ish we had a look around for one, and while there was nothing that excited Brad for him, we loved this one for me.

We'll have to keep looking for him, but since we're so close to the beach here, after I got off a long call with a friend, I jumped (read: waded carefully and slowly 😂) into the string shallow waves.

And then after a cold fresh water beach shower, the wearable towel came into its own, drying me off and keeping me warm(er).

Me thinks he might have plans for more beach holidays. What do you think? 😆

(Photo by @new.things. Of course 😄 Thanks babe. X)

I bet that was a nice experience having a cabin that close to the beach. Sleeping next the beach is so soothing.

I remember the first time I got to sleep near the waves as a kid and I found the noise scary because I was used to be in the quiet bush with almost no sound at night and only birds to wake us in the morning and it was SO LOUD!

But now, even though it's unusual for us, it's still nice and not so stressful =)

That's soooo much prettier than my towel. Mine's so old now I really need a new one. Where did you get it? I was thinking of getting Mum to help me sew one out of some nice beach towels I have! Love this photo.

Got it in Merimbula. Bit of a hike from you!

Sewing one out of beach towels sounds like a swell idea ;)

Your story about Woolgoogla is a lovely reminder of how simple moments can become cherished memories. Returning to such a meaningful place at the end of a seven-week journey is the perfect way to bring things full circle. The proximity of the sea, the sound of the waves and the chance to enjoy a beach cottage are gifts that life offers us, and it’s wonderful that you can experience them alongside Brad.

It’s fascinating how, sometimes, the things we’ve longed for for so long turn up at the most unexpected moment. The beach has been a dream for him, and what better way to celebrate it than on his last night, surrounded by the natural beauty they’d longed for so much.

The hooded towel sounds like a lovely and practical touch for enjoying those moments in the water. It’s those little decisions, like taking time to relax in the waves, that fill our souls. It’s clear that this trip has been an opportunity not only to explore, but to strengthen bonds and create precious memories.

Without a doubt, more beach holidays seem like a wonderful idea. Sometimes, life invites us to keep discovering and enjoying what brings us happiness. I hope you continue to find those moments of connection and joy.
