Playing with a Twist on Nancy

avatar

Could this be Graham Twist's most recorded piece? It was dedicated to Ralph Looij who is well-known on YouTube for his superb interpretations of Baroque and early music. As you will hear, this composition is essentially a trio—three independent parts and no where to hide. I did consider using ridiculous registrations (a massive reed in one part perhaps?), but I couldn't bring myself to ruin this great piece of music. I hope you enjoy my rendition on the Nancy cathedral sample set. Have a listen to other performances here (and let me know if I missed one!):
