Saturday ended slightly above break-even despite getting it wrong on the Over in the Waasland vs Charleroi match. 5 more matches to go in week 28 with 4 of them being played today...
Anderlecht vs Kortrijk
Anderlecht continue to switch between solid performances and matches where they are unable to bring anything whatsoever offensively. Last weekend they had a total of zero attempts on target against Cercle away going home with a dull 0-0. If anything, they can be trusted right now to put in the work and are unlikely to be played away so they aren't on my list of teams to fade especially at home where they have performed better compared to away matches. Kortrijk looked ok last week despite losing 3-1 in an open match against OHL and also played a good match the week before that so they are definitely on my radar. They have enough quality in their team with Palaversa, Chevalier, Gano to be competitive. Anderlecht has only gotten 1 goal against in their last 8 home matches though and are quite solid in defense. Odds have already come down a bit and I'm not willing to chase them at the moment. Overall this is not a match that gives me any excitement whatsoever when it comes down to betting, so
No pre-Game Bets
Zulte-Waregem vs Standard
Zulte-Waregem are in a safe zone at the moment and haven't lost in their last 3 matches taking 7 on 9. In these 3 matches, they played ok and all of them could have gone both ways. Their pitch is still quite bad which makes it hard to make sensible predictions on this match. Standard on the other hand is struggling with 3 draws and a loss in their last 4 matches. They played one of their better matches away against Oostende, had no chance against Club Brugge, and played average against OHL and Antwerp. I don't have enough confidence in Zulte-Waregem to back them as the underdog. The statistics that stand out are the corners as Zulte had at least 9 in 6 matches and Standard having at least 9 in 3 out of their last 5 away matches. With the tine being set at 9, I plan on waiting possibly catching an in-game over at better odds. Zulte-Waregem also tends to play all or nothing when needed which results in a lot of late goals. I'm keeping all action in-game on this match.

Genk vs Beerschot
Genk had a really difficult period adjusting to the bad pitches and has not been the same ever since despite the quality that is in their team. They went LLDWL in their last 5 matches but are still in 3rd place with a chance today to pick things up again. Beerschot has been on my list of teams to oppose at the right price since they mostly focussed on defense especially when they were in the lead. I have been writing about how this had an influence on the corners and they are now 11 matches without winning a corners matchup. They will miss both Noubissi and Suzuki in the offense and I expect a similar pattern of them mostly being focussed on the defense today. Racing Genk isn't exactly a high corners team even though they won 6 out of their last 7 corner matchups I expect them to be the team pushing from the start and took a small bet on
Racing Genk 1st Half -0.75 Corners @ 1.810 along with a small bet on
Racing Genk 1st Half -0.25 @ 1.840 given the fact that Beerschot is the worst 1H away team only taking 8 points on the season from which 6 came in their first 2 away matches of the season. I might add on Genk to win and cover their FT handicap of they show to reach their better form again today.
Antwerp vs Sint-Truiden
Antwerp played their Europa League match on Thursday at home against Rangers losing 3-4 in a match where they dropped their usual defensive focus making for a very wild encounter. Rangers were simply the better team and at this point, they don't really have all too much chance to win there with 2 goals or more. Stvv after having a hot run when their new coach was assigned, is now in somewhat a regression to the mean and not yet in the safe zone only being 4 points clear of a relegation spot. I don't expect an open encounter as both these teams like to play on the counter which often turns out in matches where they move forward with extreme caution resulting in not that many chances. I took a small pre-game trading position on
Under 2.5 @ 2.064 but I won't hesitate to hedge out or middle the position in-game when needed and reduce the risk along the way.
