Saturday certainly was interesting with the first "System Play" of the season that before kick-off qualified. Any time handicap/odds on a team makes no sense whatsoever based on home/away, Standings, general form and how looking at the matchup from a fundamental point of view it is nearly always a sure win. Cercle Brugge was such a play yesterday and I will write more about it in the results post next Tuesday. Busy Sunday ahead with 5 matches so I better get to it...

Anderlecht vs Kv Mechelen

Anderlecht played a good match away against Genk and deserved a draw instead of the late 1-0 loss. Their performance certainly gives them a lot more credibility to me but I'm not sure I'm yet willing to actually back them as the favorites. Kv Mechelen started the season with a really good home match followed by 3 really poor performances to come back strong with solid matches in their last 2 games. Both are near the bottom with 7 points and even though these matches often end up in the fear to lose from both being bigger than the will to win, yet I wouldn't be surprised to see both going for it especially since Anderlecht has played 1 match fewer. I see Mechelen as a team that potentially can win against everyone and Anderlecht a team that potentially can lose against everyone. There will be a lot of pressure on Anderlecht from fans and the coach which might work paralyzing. I am willing to take a small 0.15 unit gamble on KV Mechelen +0 @ 4.500 on this match. I also like kv Mechelen team Total Over but need an over 0.75 line at least and they so far have gone 6-0 this season over 9.5 corners which is something I will keep in mind. I do expect more in-game bets...

AA Gent vs Charleroi

AA Gent impressed with a 6-1 win over Club Brugge in Week 6 in a match where they scored near 100% of their chances while at the same time nothing went Club Brugge their way. AA Gent certainly has the team that is able to put up a performance like this in any given match. They will however be without key player Odidja today. Charleroi won with 5-2 from Beerschot who got a red card very early on in the match. They showed good defense in the first 4 matches but got 2 goals against in each of their last 2. Overall they have been just an ok team who has not yet lost a match yet. My lean is on AA Gent & the over but it's by no means big enough to even consider a pre-game bet on the rather big handicaps. I will just wait this one out and see how it goes before possibly getting in during the match. Charleroi has been a rather high corner team (5-1 on the over 9.5 which is something I also will keep an eye on. No Pre-Game Bets

Seraing vs Standard

Seraing is the team I saw the least of so far this season as they always played at the same time as another match was ongoing. They have held up pretty well especially at home where they are 2W-1L against the Asian line . When they get in a lead, they tend to go in lockdown mode just defending it and their home pitch is quite narrow. When they were behind having to push forward, it showed that they are unable to keep things closed in the back. Standard lacks overall quality which they have made up by playing on high enthusiasm and with a focused defense. This shows as they have been quite profitable so far on the unders. Against better teams, they are however in danger of being punished (4-0 Against Union / 2-5 against Antwerp). I would not be surprised with a similar scenario to the Seraing home match against Oostende which saw a slow start of the match. A tiny 0.2 unit trading position on 1st Half Under 1 @ 2.051 is the only bet I got myself into for now. What I mostly will be looking at in-game is Seraing to lock things down when they are in the lead or the floodgates to open in case Standard scores first.

Racing Genk vs Union

This is a match between the 2 teams that have the best overall form so far with both of them being in a good position allowing them to play without any stress. I expect both teams are going to be wanting to play forward which should result in an entertaining match. Money so far on the Asian market has been on Union and not without a good reason since they crushed even their closing lines so far. My view on them not being underrated is starting to fade to the point where I don't think a -0.25 line for Genk at home is all that far-fetched and I consider Union as the underdog even. The main question is if I want to get in pre-game on the Over 3 line which I guess I am cautiously having taken Over 3 @ 1.895 for 0.2 units with an eye to potentially take more in-game. The scoring potential from both teams is just too high.

Oud Heverlee Leuven vs Kortrijk

OHL have shown to be a team where any given match can result in a crazy score. They are near the bottom and have yet to win a match and looked to be ranked below their potential. Kortrijk mostly has been solid in the defense being the most underish team against the Asian handicap so far. They played a poor 1st half against Mechelen but managed to come back in the 2nd half. I guess I'm unwilling for now to get anything in on this match. My lean goes toward the home team but I'm not betting on the gamblers fallacy assuming OHL will take a win at some point. I'm just going to keep this one for in-game action. Interesting stat is that OHL so far performed much better on corners in their away games (22 for - 16 against) having lost all 3 matchups at home (9 for 19 against). No Pre-Game Bets
