Euro 2020 Betting Plans

The European Championship is about to start and knowing myself, I won't be able to resist watching most of it taking on some bets in the process. Being very structured and disciplined is something that always helps me tremendously in order to make a profit / avoid big losses so here are my plans for EURO 2020...

I'm going in assuming I don't have a profit expectation for this European Championship purely on knowledge since the only teams I follow these days are those that play in the Belgian League. I do have my experience and a fairly good understanding of the actual betting market which should give me a fighting chance to still come out on top.

1. Low Stakes Bets
The first thing I'm doing is setting a maximum amount I'm willing to lose during the entire Tournament. This will be set at 2 full units which is only about 12% of the profit I made during the 2020-2021 Belgian Season (See Total Results Post 1504 Bets | 697W-651L-157P | 391.282 Staked | +17.112u Profit | +4.37% ROI). I won't be betting on this tournament to make a living out of it but more because I really enjoy it still believing I could make some money if I have the right approach.

With nearly all matches are being played separately and I'll be taking 0.2 units as my standard Flat stake for the 'bigger' pre-game and live bets. This gives me room to drop a full 10 units during the month for which I would need to get really unlucky. Just assuming a -4% ROI, this means I can make 250 Full stake bets before expecting to hit zero.

2. Life & Handicapping Routine
If anything, I really like to have structure and Routine and have kind of lost this since the Belgian League Finished. Having now 3 matches on fixed time frames each day for the next 2 weeks should be excellent to build a daily routine that is very enjoyable and healthy for me. Similar to how I approach the Belgian League, I will be making a daily post with Previews on each match (don't expect it to be all too advance) while using the SBC Dicord to cover in-game Betting.

I plan to have the post up each day around the same time which will include the bets I take that day along with the results of the bets of the previous day. I also aim to further work on my health during this period dropping my final corona Kilos. At least during the initial group phase, I hope to be able to do a morning run each day, followed by a shower, a healthy breakfast doing my regular daily activities of checking the crypto markets and news also doing my daily Splinterlands Quests. After this, I will have a look at the daily games hopefully being done around 12:00 with 3 hours left before the start of the first match. During that time I will go to the store & prepare some fresh & healthy food and in-between matches I plan on doing some workouts. I will also keep count making sure I drink at least 3 Liter of water a day. Once the final match is done, I might go on a late evening walk for 40-60 minutes to hit bed afterward.

3. Handicapping Strategy
I'm not 100% sure yet about this one as I for sure have no edge purely on knowledge. Since it is a massive public event, the value will likely be 'against the public' and the widely popular bets (Favorites & Overs). I will also closely follow the movements in the market as that tends to give a very good indication on what to expect. Most action will likely be in-game and maybe also on the corners which is a market I like and I might get some trading positions in. Overall this will mainly all be a big experiment for fun and also as some kind of challenge to beat the bookies without really losing much if I fail (or get unlucky).

4. Bookies Used
The 2 unit bankroll I set out for this tournament will exclusively be bet on my Betting Broker Sportmarket Pro which until this day doesn't really have competition as they have a 1-click solution to take the best available odds on the market coming from different asian bookie without limiting winning players. So I will be sure to get rock-solid odds each time.

I might also throw in some Crypto Beer bets between 5$-50$ on the Decentralized Betting Platforms I'm currently using which are...

Sportbet.one
Wagerr.com
Wink.org

5. Group Stage Schedule & odds

That's about it, my plans are made and the rules are set (I won't deviate from them) which makes me ready to get started with it. Good luck to everyone that will be betting the EURO 2020 Championship and if anyone has some good sources of reliable handicappers/info that can be used, make sure to let me know in the comments below!

Yeah, exactly the same here. Not sure if I will be profitable but I'm quite sure I will have some fun with it even if it ends in me losing the bankroll I have put aside.
