Euro 2020 Day #1 | Turkey vs Italy Preview

I am following the European Football Championship making previews on all matches while having some fun betting small stakes.

The Tournament starts today and the first round of matches will be about getting a much better grip on all of the teams.

Turkey vs Italy

This match will be played in Rome so Italy has the home advantage. Italy is an outsider for the win and no longer plays the ultra-defensive team even though they are unbeaten in their last 27 matches keeping a clean sheet in their last 8 also scoring at least 2 in each of them. Turkey themselves are unbeaten in their last 6 games keeping 3 clean sheets but all those matches were against lower opponents. Their last major opponent was The Netherlands which they won 4-2 against. Pretty much everyone and their mother likes Italy for the first match given their current good run while Turkey mostly faced lower opponents. Tournaments like this are always something different though with few matches where better teams just outplay the opponent by a big score. In the Euro 2016 Group stage out of the 36 matches, only 11 went Over 2.5 with 8 of those landing on 3 goals. in 2012 out of 24 matches, 10 went Over 2.5. So defense and 'fear to lose' often takes the upper hand with smaller teams who put up a wall making life hard for the favorites. The only real options for me pre-game are the underdog and the under, if the line on turkey moves to 1.25 @ 1.80, (1.74 right now), I might take a small stab on it. Most likely, I will just wait it out for in-game betting action. No Pre-Game Bets

Thanks, I'll likely need the luck if I want to end up with a profit on the betting action this tournament. Compared to the Belgian League, I literally have no clue about most of these teams right now still.

Regardless of the stats I do think that it will be an over game.
Turkey almost always scores, and the same is valid for Italy.
The odds of over 2, will justify this bet in my opinion.

I'm just extra cautious on the overs and favorites and pretty much avoid them at all cost on this tournament. Dynamics are so different also compared to league matches or qualifiers. What it comes down to is that I have no clue :)
