Euro 2020 Friday 1/4 Finals Previews

I am following the European Football Championship making previews on all matches while having some fun betting small stakes.

So far the Knock-out stage has not really been a success when it comes down to betting giving back some more of the group stage earnings on day 17. I will continue to move forward with caution. I now placed 100 bets in total turning over my original bankroll more than 3 times and doing +7.31% ROI or increasing the initial bankroll I was willing to lose with +23.4%.

Switzerland vs Spain

Switzerland caused a big upset against France winning after the penalties for the deserved qualification to the quarter-finals. They are a side that is not playing the most defensive style and they have gotten at least 1 goal against in all 4 of their games now having gone over 2.5 goals in 10 of their last 13 games. Spain almost gave it away getting 2 late goals against Croatia for extra time in which they took the win. They are creating a lot of chances and have shown to be able to score in the last 2 games putting 10 in. They are also unbeaten in the last 12 matches also keeping a clean sheet in 4 of the last 6. I'm expecting Switzerland to play things a bit more defensive today as the best chance they have is making it into one of those games where Spain has a hard time scoring. As in many of these games, the first goal will likely be the most difficult and I am holding off any bets for now and will keep all options open for in-game action. No Pre-Game Bets

Belgium vs Italy

Italy showed excellent form in the group stage and they haven't gotten a goal against in ragular time for a long time. They didn't really impress against Austria where they needed extra time. Belgium won against Portugal in a match that could have gone both ways honestly and so far have won all their 4 matches in this tournament being unbeaten in their last 13. A key factor for them is both De Bruyne & Eden Hazard being questionable. Especially De Bruyne makes a big difference and it will likely be a last-minute decision for him to start or not. Odds are pretty much adjusted to this as Belgium are the underdog. Pretty much everyone is expecting a very closed-down match with a lot of focus on defense which reflects in the line. I did take a very early 0.10 unit bet on Belgium +0 @ 2.550 which felt really high even if De Bruyne and Hazard are out. Belgium in the end is still the ranked 1 team in the world and they have world-class players aside from de Bruyne and Hazard. Both only conceded 2 goals combined this tournament and it's a massive game for both so that will be quite interesting. It would be a surprise if this one turned out into an entertaining match.

With the surprises seen in the round of 16 play it will indeed be the safe option to play in play options. Expecting fewer goals in this round has will most likely be very cagey
