AZ Alkmaar vs Anderlecht

Last week this ended in a 2-0 victory for Anderlecht in a match that started at a high pace where AZ Pushed back Anderlecht. Anderlecht managed to score on their first chance in minute 22' and AZ get the ball afterwards with Anderlecht not giving too much away playing on the counter scoring the 2nd real chance they got in a match with overall low expected goals. The home team will need to take risks today as they need a 2 goal victory or more to at least get extra time. Anderlecht lost with a 5-2 score over the weekend in a match against the leader Genk where they actually weren't as bad as the score indicates most of the match. AZ won their match last weekend against smaller opponent Sittard with 0-3. I don't see the difference as big between Anderlecht and AZ to justify a +1 line on the visitors. and ended up taking a 0.3 unit bet on Anderlecht +1 @ 1.830 as they are capable of scoring especially of AZ takes more risks while their defense is not as bad as the 5 goals against Genk suggests. I will also be looking at an Over 2 bet in-game if that line is reached quite early.

West Ham vs AA Gent

AA Gent last week in the match that ended 1-1 showed that they are not without a chance against West Ham. Most of the match was played with 2 teams who weren't really willing to take many risks and I would not be surprised to see a similar start today. AA Gent failed to win and didn't play their best match over the weekend away against Kv Mechelen in a match that ended in a 1-1 draw but got lucky as Club Brugge also dropped points leaving things in their own hands during the final week of the regular season to reach Playoff 1 against an opponent who already is relegated. So quite an important week today for AA Gent but they should have their full focus on this match today. I don't rule out a surprise qualification for AA Gent and think 1.6 odds on the outright win for West Ham is on the low end. However, I was only willing to risk a 0.15 unit bet on AA Gent +1 @ 1.895 with an eye to possibly take more in-game. 1st half Under 1 is also an option based on how I expect the match to start but West Ham just doesn't have enough matches that end with 0 goals in the 1st half statistically.

Union vs Bayer Leverkusen

Union defended well last week against Leverkusen in a match where for a long time it looked that they were going to win by 0-1 on the road. The 1st real shot on goal from Leverkusen in minute 80+ went in which left them with a good 1-1 score going into the 2nd leg. This match as always isn't played in their home stadium but in Anderlecht. So far this never caused and issue and they always performed well in these games. I wouldn't be surprised to see this match also start out as a cautious game with focus from both teams first to not get a goal against. If a team scores, this likely will make it much more offensive at least for the team that needs to score. I took a 0.25 unit pre-game bet on 1st Half Under 1 @ 2.088 with an eye to potentially put it safe during the 1st half if there is no early goal.
