Saturday had some great results with some regression to the mean as OHL managed to pull an orchestrated hold up away against Charleroi while I backed them at higher odds.
Genk vs Sint-Truiden
I was looking at this match early this week with an eye to back Stvv as the underdog since Genk has shown signs of fatigue with the European matches. However, I waited for them to play against Freiburg, which showed that they are putting a lot of importance on the league match while they also managed to put up an excellent perfrormance winning with a 1-0 score. This was enough to hold me off on taking Stvv. The home team absolutely needs a win in this match to remain having a chance at playoff 1. Stvv continues to perform well and it would not be a surprise if they manage to take the outright win against Genk even though the home team overall has more quality. A lot will depend on the fatigue factor, form of the day and likely also who has some luck going for them. I do expect an entertaining match where both want to win it and where a draw late in the match will force Genk to take a lot of risks. If the odds on stvv outright win were 3.6+ I would have taken a small gamble on them, right now

Antwerp vs Standard
This is a matchup between teams who have gone full defense again lately, not really willing to play. They also lack quality offensively to finish chances. Standard still has a chance to reach playoff 1 but a win is absolutely needed for that. This regardless the result of Genk even though Genk losing points would give extra incentives. Antwerp is safe and doesn't really have much to play for anymore. I fully expect a match which starts out really slow with Standard giving the ball the Antwerp who aren't going to be willing to take much risk. I did take 0.4 units on
1st Half Under 1 @ 1.864 without plans to hedge out much of that position unless I really see value on going on the other side. Most likely this stays 0-0 for a while with Standard starting to take risks late in the match either succesfully or at the cost of getting a counter against. 1-0 or 0-1 for me are the most likely results & I took 0.03 units on

Mechelen vs Anderlecht
A lot in this match depends of the Result in Genk vs Stvv and also the Antwerp vs Standard match as both Genk & Standard are the direct rivals for Mechelen for the last playoffs spot. Either of them winning would put immense pressure on Mechelen who next week need to play against Club Brugge. A draw today would put them above AA Gent again and I'm quite sure they would sign for this position in case it's even later in the match. Anderlecht has been strange as they had a streak of matches where they had an impossible time to score a goal while in the recent 3 matches upped their efficiency to a level were every shot from impossible angles has gone in. They don't have to worry to drop out but are still chasing the teams above them. Basically with this match, I lean toward Anderlecht as Mechelen has a history of giving it away. If Genk or Standard Win the pressure might get to them (as it did last week where they played poorly), and if both lose, they might either completely drop the focus as they would be inside the top 6 or play feely. if that last scenario happens I might take a high odds over bet. For now, I'm just waiting to see what the situation will be after the 2 matches of competitors have been played.

Cercle Brugge vs La Louviere
Cercle Brugge still is within range to escape the playdowns but a win is absolutely needed for this. La Louviere is in a similar situation where they sill can escape the playdowns potentially absolutely needing the win. Both also don't really have to wory about actual relegation as Dender is 8+ points behind them while in worst case they have 2 test matches against the 3rd in 2nd Division. So I expect a match where both will go for the win taking some risks eventually. La Louviere took the draw last week against a very defensive Antwerp. Cercle played a good match in Stvv but still ended up with the 0 points. I do expect for this one that Cercle Brugge will come out fired up and forward while La Louviere is quite comfortable defensively on the counters. I aslo don't exclude La Louviere going forward. I did take a small 0.208 unit bet on
Cercle Brugge 1st Half -0.5 Corners @ 1.820 and I'm leaning toward the over as a win for both is mandatory. I will wait for the Over 2.25 line ans slowly start to scale in from there .
